As an avid COT Report watcher based in the UK, I was fascinated to read about your approach on the Timer blog, especially in regards the S&P 500. I have been looking into how best to generate signals for the S&P from the data, and like yourself have found that using extended positions for Commercials/ Non-reportables provided pretty impressive results - somewhat to my surprise as I'd always look at the Speculators as the best contrarian plays.

Your approach of being flexible on what categories are worth watching is really interesting, your trade results amazing and I'd love to see a sample of your spreadsheet sometime to get a better feel for your approach.

I have been using your COTs setup with great success and have created some of my own. The 10-year short trade has been very profitable as of late and by the looks of it still has more room to run even with the commercials trimming their short positions. Thanks for all of your great work.

I read your article in T&A magazine. It’s fantastic. Thank you for sharing. I’ve been looking at COT data for some time and was convinced it held extremely valuable data, but did not know how to use it. I looked at several methods of analyzing the data, but they were too complex for a novice like myself, especially with the options trades involved.

After reading your article in Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities magazine, I experienced a eureka moment. Everything became clear. Even a novice like myself could beat the market with COT data. Your blogs are even better.
